A legendary Mediterranean offshore regatta
Every spring, sailors from across Europe gather in Barcelona to set course for Ibiza.
The Ruta de la Sal (“The Salt Route”) is more than a race — it’s a celebration of the sea, the wind, and shared adventure.
At Lanselle Sailing, we offer you the chance to take part in this legendary offshore passage — as crew, as explorer, as sailor.
You’ll join a small, friendly crew on a comfortable, well-equipped sailing yacht, under the guidance of a professional skipper.
Together, you’ll prepare the boat, plan your route, and cross the open sea from Barcelona to Ibiza (and back), sailing through night watches and sunrise landfalls.
It’s not about competition — it’s about experience.
A unique opportunity to learn, to challenge yourself, and to share an unforgettable maritime adventure.
⚓ A Race Born from History
The Ruta de la Sal (“Route of Salt”) takes its name from a real episode of Mediterranean history. In the mid-19th century, the Spanish mainland suffered a salt shortage due to a blockade, and daring sailors from Catalonia set out for Ibiza to bring the precious mineral back by sea. What was once a necessity became a legend — and today, that same route inspires one of the most emblematic offshore races in the Mediterranean: from Barcelona to Ibiza, every Easter, hundreds of boats relive this maritime adventure.
